Comments on ISA Shuttle
Dr. Franz Woeppen is an expert field researcher educated in WOHLE. This is his second deep space assignment in the Hook Rift, the first being along the spinward edge in Agathai sector. He is impatient with any challenge to his authority, especially in the realm of science.

Puela Hecate's role is the FSS liaison to the ISA team during its five year tenure on Vesarelict, after which she may stay on as base chief. She is a six-term scout from the Coality interior. An expert surveyor, she has led mapping teams in three sectors. This is her first trip into the frontier. Puela is somewhat shy, the epitome of quiet competence.

James and Larimee Coates are astrophysicists from WOHLE who see their research positions with the ISA as a career opportunity. They also look on the five-plus year assignment as an opportunity to start a family, a job they are approaching enthusiastically during the long down times in jump space. James has a perpetually bewildered demeanor that belies a keen intelligence. Larimee is quick with good-natured sarcasm. They are both a perpetual thorn in the side of Dr. Woeppen.

According to the billet, Ferdinand St. Argentine is a psychologist and xenolinguist, but of the six ISA scientists, "Ferdy" has the least education and training. His association with the ISA and his position on this mission is entirely due to sponsorship. His mission is to establish communication with the sentient life on Hailstorm. Ferdy is enthusiastic and somewhat distracted.

Goldie French is a technician who will be working with the both the astrophysicists and the Hailstorm team, building computer models and maintaining lab equipment. He is the only one of the six ISA members who comes from outside the Imperial border (Valentina). Goldie comes across as drab and somewhat rigid.
